Personality psychologists are interested in what differentiates one person from another and why we behave the way that we do. Personality research, like any science, relies on quantifiable concrete data which can be used to examine what people are like. This is where the surveys you have just completed, like the Big Five, play an important role. Thank you for your contribution! We hope you find that the following results provide you with interesting insights about your personality.

There has been much research on how people describe others, and five major dimensions of human personality have been found. They are often referred to as the OCEAN model of personality, because of the acronym from the names of the five dimensions. Your specific personality indicates that the following attributes will most likely describe you well:
You typically don't seek out new experiences. The other person prefers traditional and familiar experiences.
You are well-organized, and are reliable. The other person tends to do things somewhat haphazardly.
You are relatively social and enjoy the company of others. The other person is extremely outgoing, social, and energetic.
You are neither extremely forgiving nor irritable. The other person is neither extremely forgiving nor irritable.
You tend to become anxious or nervous. The other person isn't particularly nervous, nor calm.

All the feedback you see here is based on statistical analysis of personality data collected from tens of thousands of people. None of the feedback is based on our intuitions or theories about personality. In short, the feedback is entirely driven by the data we have collected.
Sometimes the feedback will give respondents apparently contradictory feedback. This is an unfortunate consequence of making generalizations. Quite often, individuals cannot be captured by the general trends derived from analysis of large numbers of people. Of course, while our generalizations do get it wrong sometimes they tend to get it right more often than not.
We want to emphasize that we are talking about generalizations here, and these generalizations don't apply to all people. To illustrate, consider the generalization that men are generally taller than women. This does not mean that every man is taller than every woman. Instead, it means that, on average, men are taller than women. This same logic applies to the feedback that is given on this site. Even though, on average, people tend to become more conscientious as they get older, not everyone follows this pattern.
During our survey, we may have asked you questions regarding depression or alcohol. The following two links may be of interest to individuals who have answered questions on
either topic. These links are being given with ALL results.
